The Mystery Box

My day started at 4:38 AM when I was awoken by a frantic call from my mother. "Wake up right now Christian, hurry over here it's an emergency!" Thats all my mom said to me and then she hung up. I had no idea what was going on. As I rushed out of bed there was a knock on my apartment door. I thought that it was very strange due to the fact that it was now 4:45 in the morning, nobody was ever up this early around here. I hurried to the door and looked outside, there was a box label in big letters Christian, under it in small print it said "Don't open until 7:01 PM tonight". All I could think about was how strange this morning has been and how it has just started.

I grabbed my coffee and ran down the stairs because the elevator would take too long. It was very scary walking to my mom's house this early in the morning with nobody around, only creepy homeless people sitting on the sides of the street begging for money. I looked down at my worn out green watch that I never take off and noticed that it was 5:15, I never remembered it taking me this long to get to my mom's house before. I was very eager to hear what was so important for her to wake me up this early and have me home over so quickly. My phone kept going off but I just ignored because I assumed that it was the daily news about what trump messed up on over night.

5:38 AM I arrived at the front steps of my moms house. I looked around everything was quiet, the birds were chirping, the sun was rising, and the soccer moms were out walking there dogs. "I thought to myself what could be going on inside?" I opened the door, all of the lights were off and I didn't hear anybody. I started to walk around the house and I see Rocky, my moms German Shepard. She walks me right to where my mom was, she was sitting in her rocking chair. "Mom, what is wrong why did you make me come to your house so early in the morning? Nothing seems to be wrong." My mom, "I just wanted to see you, you are always at work and you never spend time with me. And why did you not reply to any of my text messages? I texted you a million times!" I apologized and began to tell her about the box that was left at my door this morning.

7:30AM I lost track of time, this time I had to run all the way to the Meridian passing all of the yelling homeless people and all of the other citizens walking to work. Everybody I passed started to stair at me. I arrived at my apartment with another box at my door with the same labels except this time it said open at 7:04 PM. I was starting to get very curious about what was in the box, I was about to open the first box when there was a knock at the door. I went to the door and this time there was a letter that said, "I know you are about to open the boxes, that is not a good idea if you want to protect your safety."

10AM I arrive at the Public library. I quickly get annoyed with all of these little kids putting books all over the place and trashing the room. I leave the room and go to the bathroom where I spend most of my time. This is how I escape from the world.

6:30PM The library is closing so I gather my things and walk home. There is only 30 minutes until the lights go out so I quickly cook myself dinner and get my things ready for the next day.

6:55 PM I thought the mysterious things appearing at my door was never going to end. I looked outside my door one last time to see if anything has appeared on my mat outside. There was. It was a timer counting down until the first box was going to be opened.

7:00PM There was a loud "BOOM" and the lights went out. There were many things running through my mind, "What if there is a bomb inside the box?, What am I going to do?"

7:01PM I opened the box, there was a note inside. I realized that I had a stalker.

7:04PM There was another note. This was a long note, one part of it that stuck out to me said, "I hope you have a goodnights rest hopefully you won't get a phone call at 4:38 tomorrow morning. I enjoy watching you sleep."

10PM This is the time that I usually go to sleep, but tonight I couldn't. I was scared, I didn't know who was watching me and what they were going to do to me. I started to think about the past few weeks to see if I had made anybody mad or hurt anybody. I could think of one person but I knew it couldn't be her...
